At 9:00pm we pulled into Cairns. That was one long drive. I am amazed at how well Cam and Dan have coped with this type of travel. They put up with the hours, breakdowns, late dinners with such maturity. We never heard a whine from either of them, and for the most part they were extremely companionable the entire trip. I am so proud of them, they have proven to be real troupers.

Terry, Deb, Melissa and Natalie were all up and waiting for us. Those first hello hugs were the best part of this trip. We’ve been waiting for this for 3 years now and gosh it felt good. Time for many ciders, beers and talk and laughter long into the night. I’m glad I’m not camping next to us – CHEERS!
