O-oh

17th June, 2011

After a fabulous night sleep it’s up and at ‘em. A quick pack up and back on the road. Not long after, the laptop we run our mapping software packed it in. This meant I got to drive for a while as Steve sat in the passenger seat bashing what life was left in the computer. Not a happy man. We have become so dependant on that little red arrow showing us where we were in our surroundings, that we felt quite lost without it.

We pulled in at Halls Creek to say a quick hello to Chris at the Visitors Centre and then hit the road again. We camped at a free-camp just outside Kunnunurra. Met a young couple that had emigrated from UK to live in Oz, and were traveling around looking for “the perfect place to settle”. Had a good few drinks, said goodnight, and rested up to hit the road again. By about now I had relaxed enough to say “So, we get to Cairns a day late, that’s not so bad.” I should have kept my mouth shut as this was about to come true.

It has been amazing at how quickly we have settled into this traveling routine that we love so much.
