Still totally enjoying Darwin. On Saturday we went to the Parap Markets and feasted on satays, curries and seafood while strolling through the stalls. Finished the day up with a swim in the pool.
Today was a big day. Started with an early morning to catch the high tide for some fish feeding. Excellent. This is run by AquaScene as a tourist gig. The fish come to feeding area in their hundreds. There were mullet, catfish, whiprays, milk fish and others. You throw in bits of bread and they come and eat it out of your hand while swimming around your feet. The boys thought it was ‘awesome’.
Then we went to the wave pool. This is just like at Jambaroo at home, but only a wave pool and far less crowded. They supply all the boogie boards and biscuit rings. Cam had a blast. Seems he has left the Wrangler/Cowboy days behind and heading towards the surfie/moondoggie phase. Dan took a bit of warming up to it, but in the end he too was in the waves like a dude.
Then tonight we went to the Mindil Beach Sunset Markets. The whole family enjoyed these. We saw crafts and stuff that we haven’t seen at any other markets – really unique. And the food – we stuffed ourselves crazy with more asian delights and bought ourselves some trinkets. What a great day.
