Following Eyre Creek to Boulia has been a beautiful drive. It’s been refreshing to see greenery and the wildlife has been abundant. We’ve seen the return of emus running alongside the car, pelicans and hawks riding the thermals in the sky, and lizards sunning themselves by the side of the road. After the sparseness of the desert, it’s great to see life again.
Our campsite is grass, so we’re taking two days to get really clean. After not washing our hair for 7 days, a quick Pantene 3 minute miracle is in order.
On the last night, our camp was surround by wild ponies. Steve went out to have a look as we could hear lots of foot stamping and snorting going on, and he found ponies with their noses in our food box. Now, we're used to hiding stuff away from dingoes, but ponies is another thing all together.
